Description
Important: After replacing a new rack, test if the rack and pinion are engaging properly before use the machine. Here is how: manually pull the rack out a bit and use the handle to engage the rack and pinion, then press the rack further down, there should be no or very little gap between the rack and pinion.
For 15/18ton rack, determine generation is necessary before purchase. Please measure your current rack and compare to the following specification to choose the right size.
Rack and Pinion must in matching generation, mixture use of those parts could damage the machine.

New rack
I am very happy with the splitter, but I was disappointed that the rack wore out so quickly, a bit over two years. The new rack is working just as well as the old one did and I have adjusted my way of using the splitter, in case it was operator error that caused the failure in the first place. Time will tell.

Very easy makes getting firewood a pleasure. Easily cuts Jarrah which is a hard wood. I have cut logs 450mm in diameter with ease. I would be lost without my log splitter as I am 81 years old.
