Forestwest uses a number of Freight Companies to ensure fast delivery with most affordable cost. Note: Please be advised, we do not use Australia Post, so leave your residential address for delivery please.

Delivery Options

Forestwest will automatically estimate the most suitable company to deliver your order, and the shipping cost is calculated based on the rates of that company. Please note that for NSW, VIC, ACT, QLD, SA, TAS and NT customers, the rates are estimated based on shipping from the Melbourne warehouse, and Perth warehouse for WA customers. Actual shipping cost may vary depending on stock levels.

The freight companies include: TNT, Toll, Courier Please, etc. We will notify you which company is used to dispatch your order when we add the tracking number. If you have a specific requirement for the courier company, please advise us when placing the order. The cost may vary based in that case.

Store Pick-Up

We have Two Stores, one in Perth and one in Melbourne, both available for Pick Up. If you wish to pick up from our stores, please contact us via email or phone and specify the date and time that you would like to collect your order. We will pick and pack your order immediately after receiving your order if not stated otherwise.

Depot Pick-UP

We offer Depot Pick-Up for our customer to save on freight cost, especially for delivery of heavy and bulky items. This option will not generate extra cost for residential delivery or tailgate fee, which means a better deal on shipping cost. Please contact our customer service via email or phone, providing your postcode and suburb name, we will check the nearest depot and provide a quote based on you picking up from the depot. At this stage, this option can only be booked over the phone or emails.

Authority To Leave

All the delivery will be instructed as “Authority To Leave” if not stated otherwise, meaning the courier will have the authority to leave the package safe if premises is not attended. If you have special instructions, please leave comments in “shipping comment” when placing the order, and we will put your instructions instead. This may generate extra cost on top of the freight cost we charge you. We will contact you to collect this fee before we dispatch the order (like surcharge for signature required delivery), or after we receive the invoice from the courier company (like re-delivery fee).

Surcharges May Incur

We always try to AVOID these surcharges and provide the most reasonable freight cost, but if any of the following surcharges is generated, we will contact you to collect the fees, and you have the right to cancel the order for full refund BEFORE the order is dispatched. Please be advised all the surcharges listed below is NOT included in the freight cost estimated on the website.

  • Re-delivery Fee $25. This fee will not generate if you do not have any special instructions for delivery. And it is only charged the courier failed to deliver the item at the first attempt. We will contact you to collect this fee after receiving the invoice from the courier company.
  • Remote Area Surcharge $35-$45. When deliver to a remote area within Australia, a remote area surcharge will incur. We will contact you before we dispatch the order. Press "Ctrl" and "F" at the same time, and type in your postcode or suburb to check if it is on the list. Click here to view the Remote Area List.
  • Tail-Lift Truck Fee. For any delivery over 40kg, a tail-lift truck MAY be used for delivery, in that case, an extra fee will be charged based on the weight, size and destination of this item. We will contact you before dispatch to confirm this surcharge. This can be avoided by picking up from a nearby depot, please check the Depot Pick-Up section for more information.
  • Oversize Freight 1.5m to 1.99m $12. For any item with dimensions (LxWxH) exceeding 1.49m, a $12 dollar surcharge will incur.

Dispatch Time

We will always dispatch your order within 1-2 business days of receiving it. If we are unable to do this, we will contact you as soon as we know that we are unable to meet this commitment. The tracking number will be added after we process the order. For any urgent orders, please contact our customer service and we will do our best to help.


All freight companies used by Forestwest are general carriers and therefore do not cover damage or loss of goods in transit. Forestwest offers a simple insurance option, it is calculated at 2% of the value of goods.You can contact us to get insurance on your goods, otherwise you will do so at your own risk and any damage and/or loss is your responsibility. 

Please ALWAYS CHECK the goods before signing for it, since a signature or a delivery with “Authority to Leave” is recognized as a SUCCESSFUL delivery, which will cause difficulties in claiming for insurance. In all cases we HIGHLY recommend the optional protection of insurance.
