Far exceeded my expectations!

I’ve been using this log splitter for a few weeks now and have split some tough hardwood. Its fast although has some kickback. The splitter struggles a little with big knots in the wood. ForrestWest please make a bigger single phase eletrical log splitter :)

15 tonne electric.

Wow. Ive been cutting wood for 50 years. This machine is better than I expected. very simple , very fast and easy one handed operation. Cuts everything that I throw at it. Well done.

Fast and effective

I bought the 15t / 2200W kinetic log splitter in April 2022. It was easy to assemble, but benefited from the fact that I picked mine up at the Perth warehouse and was able to see an assembled unit and speak with the staff about assembly and operation. The splitter handles the size logs it is specified for, albeit requiring several “hits” for larger/thick/knotted logs. The rack and cog mechanism does benefit from regular greasing to reduce kick back. A thick welders glove helps also. It is fast and probably superior to the hydraulic units of similar capacity. As previous reviews have noted it is stable enough when stationary but the wheel (narrow) spacing and lack of a long towing/lifting handle make it difficult to wheel and impossible to tow around behind say a quad bike. I may make some modifications to allow for this. I tried running the splitter with my 2000KVA honda generator and not surprising the genie was too small for a splitter rated at 2200W. I suggest a 3000KVA would probably cope? Overall I am happy with my purchase at the price point!
