What changed in the upgrade?
A solid log-catching platform
The upgrade introduced a solid platform for catching split timber. The original comparison images show the change from the earlier tray design.
Revised stand and wheels
The rear stand was strengthened and pneumatic tyres were introduced to improve the machine's support and handling.
An updated operating handle
The handle was revised with a more substantial construction and a rubber grip. Follow the model's operating instructions and use both safety and operating controls as intended.
Heavier flywheels and a 2200W motor
The upgraded machine combined heavier flywheels with a compatible 2200W electric motor. These were changes to the drive system of the earlier model, rather than a claim that every log will split regardless of condition.
Is the current BM11097 right for your firewood?
The BM11097 accepts logs up to 400mm long. Check its recommended diameter and consider your timber species, moisture, knots and grain. Its 10A requirement may suit a work area with an appropriate mains outlet.
Direct connection is preferred. If an extension lead is needed, use a heavy-duty lead rated for the machine, with compatible plugs and a recommended maximum length of 10 metres. A generator must be correctly matched for both starting and running demands; generator use is possible but not recommended as the first choice.
